Is it the fuel pump again??
I own a 2006 S40 2wd no turbo.
three months ago i started hearing this noise down below the back passanger seat. I figured it was the fuel pump so i took it to the dealership. they also said it was the fuel pump. the price was more then i wanted to pay so i ended up buying one myself and had someone else do the actual installation. Heres the kicker. Once the fuel pump was replaced it was only 3days (give or take)and the noise started again. I am pretty sure the noise is coming from the pump. my question is whether the new pump I had put in is bad, or if maybe something else is causing the pump to make that noise? the noise is a high whine that also seems to shutters a little. symptoms 1the noise is a high whine mixed with rambling/shuttering 2the noise isnt always there. the noise only starts after i have been on the road a while. it also seems to happen quicker if i make a lot of stops(turning the car off). 3I have no problem starting. 4Sometimes acceleration feels a little sluggish. but that may just be me. other then that it drives fine. 5It seems to use more gas. 6when im stopped and i turn the wheel, the pitch changes. If anyone know what it might be im all ears. |

No I i have not. If thats a possible reason ill have it done.
One thing i forgot to mention in my first post was that the check engine light came on with a code P0089. anyone know the cause for that code? if its the regulator that needs to be changed, is that the same as the fuel pressure sensor? |
