'00 S40 Steering problems.
Ok, I might not explain this too well, so ask for any more info if I don't, I've tried explaining this to my garage and they just think I'm bonkers. This is a W plate 00 year S40.
Ok, I thought my car was pulling to the left, but it appears this is not the case, since the problem began I've had two wheel trackings performed, a full set of new tyres and brakes all round and the problem still persists. It's not pulling, as if you hold the steering wheel it kinda goes straight, the problem is letting go of the wheel, it will 'drive' itself left, turning the wheel, it seems to be worse if there's someone sat in the passenger seat (that was the bit the mechanic laughed at me) but it's exactly what happens. If I'm driving solo, it can be fine, then suddenly the pulling/steering begins. It happens worse when there's bigger cambers. I'm sure I'm not going crazy, it's been like this for a year now and it getting worse it seems, I tried searching the thread for pulling to see if anyone had the same symptons but couldn't see anything, so can anyone shed any light as to what to look for ? Many thanks in advance. Nik |

, no it wasn't my post, but I shall look for it though as it might shed some light.
I've not driven anyone else's to compare, I've had this over four years and it only started happening just over a year ago, it could have been triggered by sleeping policemen/kerbs. It's not as if it's slight either, it's really agressive, saying that though, the faster you go the less agressive it is. EDIT: would this be the thread ? I can see why you think it was me, as he is from Sheffield too, and also odd I just replied to one of this earlier aerial threads Last edited by Nikster; Jun 16th, 2009 at 11:00. |

Can a mod delete this thread please ? I've responded to a thread that already exists about the same issue.
