They are not expensive from the main dealer.
It is one of the best inventions there is for a childs seat .Much safer and more secure compared to just the seat belts imo.

I too have a new sprog and did a lot of reading on the Isofix vs non. A properly fitted non-isofix performs just as well as isofix in crashes, the benefits really are ease of in and out and speed of the same, really any properly fitted base unit be it iso or non-iso performs just aswell.

I actually got a maxi cosy non isofix or isofix "permanent" fitting base, so it has a belted in base with a "leg" that comes out of the front and then rests on the floor, or it can clip into isofix. The child seat then clips in and out of it just as it would any isofix base. We then also have an isofix only in the other car that i got off ebay. It just gives the option of temp fitting into other cars that do not have isofix as and when might be required, and also it goes in the volvo which isnt isofix.

I've got a silvercross car seat and the seat belt isn't long enought to go all the way round. It got 3/4 then ran out so the only answer was isofix

Mine is the just the base that gets belted in and it doesn't need as much as going all the way round a full car seat, just clips in and out.

Serves you right for spending so much on a seat, silver cross must be worth more than your car! lol

Silvercross is cheap compared to some of the silly prices.
The pram and seat wasn't my choice, I had no say it that! I just had to hand the money over!!!!

In the same boat; the wife decided what she wanted and I handed over the ccard! She chose the maxi-cosi pebble (NOT the £600 leather one!) and wants the new 2way base which needs an isofix mount.

Mount vision rider - could you PM Luke for me? Forum says I need to make at least 30 posts before I can PM...
