2000 V40 childproof lock removal advice.
The rear windows on my 2000 V40 will not operate when using the switches on the rear doors - much like what occurs when the childproof switch is on. Unfortunately, turning the childproof switch off does not make those rear window switches operate. I suspect my childproof lock switch (see photo) is bad. Any suggestions on how I can access/pull that switch from the center console between the front seats? Thanks!!

I believe that the full switch pack will need to be removed, as far as I remember it 'clips' into place. A thin bladed article, such as a butter knife, or a trim removal tool (available online) should be able to get it out. It is possible that your switch has dirty contacts.
Off topic, but I notice that you have a very rare pop-out cupholder in the dash. Never seen one in the flesh!

Huh. That makes sense Joseph. Clips are probably in the front or back of that switch panel. Yes, I too suspected dirty contacts. I manipulated the switches a bunch with no result. I was thinking that childproof switch might be bad. I was going to connect that circuit - just take that switch out of the equation. See if those rear up/down buttons work then. I'm open to any suggestions Joseph. That pop-out cupholder is rare you say? I'll take care not to bust it.
