Default D5 engine pads vacuum hose

I've just replaced the engine pads on my S60 D5 and am finding it nigh on impossible to reinsert the vacuum hose connector into the rear mount. Whoever designed it with a right angled connector going in from the side should be sacked!

Any one any ideas how to do it? There isn't enough space to get both hands down there to work it into place.

I thought of replacing the right angled connector with a straight one and push the tube in from above, like the front mount, but haven't found a suitable sized washer hose connector yet.

I now use long reach needle nosed pliers.
They make the job reasonably straightforward.

Thanks Simon, I used long nose pliers to get it out but the space and the angle conspire against me to put it back, however I must admit the ones you linked to look better.

No problem. The longer reach on the pliers is key unless you have arms like Mr. Tickle.
If it isn't already, having the strut brace removed helps too.

A good idea to use a lubricant , you don't have to struggle too much to press it in then ..

Thanks to all who replied.
I bought some similar long nose pliers to those suggested but still couldn't get them into place to grip the connector and push down on it.
In the end, having put a smear of silicone grease onto the connector as suggested by Clan I pushed the vacuum tube, with the Rt angle connector in place, in from the side with my right hand and then with a good light I used a couple of 10/12" 3/8" drive extension bars clipped end to end to push the connector into the hole in the pad with my left hand once the tip of the connector was over the hole. It went in remarkably easily. Of course you don't have to use extension bars, any metal rod about 2ft long would do; It's just that I had those to hand having used them to undo and redo the nuts on the top of the engine pads. Good illumination of the area was essential though.
Hope this might help someone.
Still think it's bad design and that Volvo should have used a straight connector as on the front pad.
