Exactly! We use a digital Megger now; far easier than any crank handle jiggery pokery!

Right, so I have gotten to the bottom of this. Apologies for wasting anyone's/everyone's time, but it is the CEM that has failed. Removed the unit from under the dash, and many of the contacts have corroded nicely! Water ingress is a b*tch.

Off to Volvodiagnostics it goes...

Default Fault found and rectified

So, found the issue to be the CEM.

Sent off to VolvoDiagnostics Monday last week and they received it the next day.

Called me back on the Tuesday and mentioned that the unit was looking in very poor condition, which I kind of suspected. Anyway, it was irreparable.

Options - buy a used unit from eBay and ask them to stick my V70's program onto what could potentially be a duff unit (£60 + eBay unit cost), or buy a unit they have refurbished off the shelf and stick my V70's ID onto this (£260).

Went for option 2 - the new unit still came with a lifetime warranty, which is excellent. Unit arrived Friday morning.

Soaked new unit in copious quantities of ACF50, and refitted into the car. Pushed the plethora of relay cards into the system, slotted it back into its bracket, and everything is peachy.

VolvoDiagnostics were excellent; I cannot recommend them enough for their service and quick turnaround.

All faults cured!!
