Default Folders on memory stick don't show up on screen

Hi,

I have just filled a 64Gb USB3 memory stick up with 428 folders of Artists/Bands. There's 15Gb left free on the stick.
Now here's the thing, the media player only shows folder 2, 3 ,4 and 5 out of the 428 that are on it. The song files are a mixture of MP3s and M4As which in the past never been a problem.
The stick is formatted MS-DOS (FAT) on a 2017 iMac.

Have you guys any clue as to what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Rob

Hi,

Have you tried pressing the "Enter" button on the control and browsing from there?
My folders show up but seems to be missing a few (10, 11, 12!) but maybe I deleted those a while ago.

I suspect that your memory stick might be too big.

I believe that the car can't handle memory sticks that are bigger that 32 GB.

My entire CD collection is therefore stored in MP3 format on seven 32GB memory sticks and I have no problems accessing and playing the contents in my 2014 V70 D4 SE Lux.

Have you tried viewing Artist or Album rather than bu folder? What you describe used to happen occasionally on a V40 I used to have and selecting Album or Artist seemed to make it rescan the USB stick and fix the by folder view.
