Default UEM Checking and REMOVAL

It would appear that the UEM may have a Dry joint , locking with the remote has stopped and sometimes the key only opens the drivers door (has to be relocked then unlocked to open ALL doors) What is the Procedure please of taking this component apart , this car has a Telephone which I think is also in the mirror for Speech .

I don't know if the problem is with the UEM. Try first locking/unlocking dr door three times. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...ic.php?t=24386

Have you checked the car parked somewhere else to discount local interference?

If I remember right the entire mirror and interior light assembly unscrews from the roof, screws in mine where under the light diffuser. Disconnect the cables and it’s out.
The mirror housing splits apart, gently pry at the joint and it will unclip. The UEM is the board inside it. Once you get the board out, (mine was very stuck on double sided sticky, needed careful application of a heat gun to soften it). You’ll see a small daughter board soldered at right angles to the main one. This smaller one is the keyfob receiver, and if necessary can be swapped. The long board contains all the coding and can’t be swapped.

Thanks for the replies , done the Key 3 times, nothing, parked over a 30 km distance nothing , looks like a dismantling job , but I am considering buying a RF tester (Cheap) just in case the problem is in the fob !

Does disconnecting the battery help with this fault ? Is it just disconnect and wait for a few minutes ? Does this bring up any warnings?
