Default 2006 Xc70 d5 stall issue

Evening all.

I’ve recently purchased this car and have encountered an issue with engine stalling when downshifting to 2nd (usually when approaching a junction, stopped traffic etc). The car starts and runs fine and I can restart immediately following the stall. There is no engine management light etc on the dash and as far as I can tell no error codes according to my cheapo obd code reader.

I had initially noticed a loose hose clamp at the MAF sensor, which has now been snugged up, not sure if cleaning the MAF is necessary or not.

I did briefly think I’d 'resolved' the issue by turning off the aircon as I’d gone a couple of days with no issues, alas it was not to be, the issue reoccurred today with the aircon off.

I’m planning to replace the fuel filter tomorrow, beyond that I’ve been reading about various sensors which may be faulty, but I presume any fault would be accompanied by an error code. The EGR is pretty clean. I've put some injector cleaner in too.

Any thoughts before I take it to a specialist?

Spent some time yesterday doing the fuel filter, cleaning the MAF and going back over the EGR again.

However, the first thing I did (and fingers crossed), the thing which is suspect was the issue was an incorrectly seated cable to the fuel pressure sensor. It’s early days, but after a number of test drives, I’ve not had any further issues with stalling.

Spent today tracing the source of speaker crackling and it appears to be the head unit. Looks like I’ll have to pull it out again and strip it down to see if it's the resoldering job detailed in this YT clip

Gave the car a good clean and touched up some paint chips, aux belt and tensioner are next up, well, after a trip to get the crappy locking wheel nut (singular, thankfully) removed. After which I can finally finish cleaning up the ABS sensors to see if it resolves the anti-skid warning.

Despite this seemingly long list of issues, the car appears to have been well looked after, hopefully if I can get these few niggles sorted out it will serve me well.
