what`s up with volvo pricing ????
i had my a.b.s.- e.c.u. replaced by my local volvo dealership on my V70 R and the labour was £80.00
2 weeks later my brother had the same part replaced ( same part number ) by the same dealership on his 850 R and was charged £32.00 labour. i asked why and was amazed to be told it took 1 hour to do my job , but only took .4 of an hour to do the 850 ecu. does it really take 36 mins. longer to open a V70 bonnet compared to that of a 850 ? l.m.a.o. or what. |

Could be the dealer is running lower labour rates for older cars and doesn't want to fess up to it to the owner of a newer car?
I know I got a "4+" *i.e. car older than 4 yrs discount of about 20% on my labour rate when I got my '01 S60 T5 serviced last year but not all dealers do it and I had to ask for it too. Cheers, J |

that said, on my earlyish 850 the abs ecu is easier to get to/remove than on the newer cars. The orientation of mine is vertical and the torx screws accessible where as on the later cars and v70s it can be more of a PITA. Maybe they are 'book' times?
