Default 1997 VOLVO PETROL ESTATE (940 CLASSIC) - Spares or Repairs

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/172331265923?

We bought this car in September 2007 when it had done 105k miles. Selling now for spares or repairs, or maybe someone who knows what they are doing could get it running smoothly again.

It has now done 256k miles.

It still drives, and has an MOT until April 2017.

We are selling it because while it does run on LPG (dual fuel - also runs on petrol when starting up and optionally can run on only petrol), when it does run on LPG the performance is very "juddery". It is the same when the engine is cold or warm. Once up to speed it is smooth - the problem happens when accelerating. As my wife says, it's like it has "kangaroo" petrol in it - it just judders along. GasTech in Warrington replaced the LPG filters but that didn't make any difference.

Also there is a problem with the engine heat - it gets very hot and I have to top up the water every day or so.

It hasn't actually stopped running - the local garage quoted £200 to fix the water issue.

Please note:

1. Sunroof doesn't open - it is sealed with bathroom sealant to prevent leaks
2. There is no radio (due to having to remove it due to problems with wiring)

These don't work: fuel gauge, internal lights, clock and rear wiper.

The LPG tank is in the spare wheel bay under the boot. It normally fits in about 38 litres max.

LPG system = OMVL. It was converted in Jan 2008, and has an LPG certificate.

MOT expires 12 April 2017.

I have recently fitted a new headlight and a new rear light cluster.
