Default V50 speedo/rev needles not illuminating.

Hi all,

I've been trying to find out which fuse may be causing this, but have had no luck so far. I have a 2004 V50, the needels on the speedo and rev counter have stopped lighting up, makes it a bit tricky to see how fast im going at night! Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Have had the V50 for 6 years now and am really pleased with it. It has the bad headlights which seems to be a common issue, and since reading a post today about handbrack cable tensioning recalls I'll be making a call to Volvo (that will explain that issue haha) but its perfect for me, the wife and 2 kids

Shame about the dents (none by me, one by the wife, and an unknown that happend this weekend caving in the rear near side door) which will no doubt cost more to repair than the car is worth, but we dont want to get rid of 'Ovlov' we will run him till the end.

Thanks in advance,

Edd...

Hi
Probably been checked, but has the dimmer knob been moved accidentally?

Ah sorry something i did forget to mention but yes, have been playing with the dimmer. That is still making the dials/numbers (if that makes sense) dim, its just the needles. am starting to think it could be a bulb, but would 1 bulb be lighting up 2 needles?

I think you have similar issue and solution (or lack of it) as here....

Sorry to drag this one up.
So I've managed to source an instrument cluster - which I've been told works fine (we will see).
Anyway, is it a straight swap as I'm guessing all information is kept in the CPU of the car. Or do the instrument cluseters have to be programmed in anyway?

Thanks,

Edd...

Pretty sure the cluster is coded to the car.
