Windscreen washer pump question
Hello,
Please see the photo - is this a standard set-up? I'm guessing not, as it looks like something has broken off the top of the bottle - so I'm thinking that the external pump is a previous fix someone has made up. Anyway the external pump has given up, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. Do you folks think the external pump might be from a different vehicle, or some sort of universal job? Thanks, Andy.

Andy;
You have it right...cap has broken off OE pump assy...which itself wouldn't keep it from working, but a generic replacement pump was simply added in-line to keep thing working. Replacement oe pumps integrated with cap are I believe available, but may be pricey at this point...or you could simply replace the generic pump... Good Hunting! |

Quote:
Part number 688400 available from Brookhouse Volvo, £57.30 as here: https://www.classicvolvoparts.co.uk/...sher_and_Wiper There is a separate pump a bit further down the page which is £15 and could replace your existing non-original one. Hope this helps? Paul Last edited by cassell; Feb 13th, 2018 at 19:58. |

Thanks, I should have guessed Brookhouse would have the answer! Tricky decision now, whether to revert to the original set-up for the sake of £40 more than the universal one. Hmm...
