Default faultcode ADM-0002

I get this faultcode and according to the Mechanic it's a faulty Additive module.

Does anyone know something about this?

Where do i locate the module?

The car is a v50 2.0D 2007

The additive dosing module is underneath at the back of the car, right hand side, not far from the rear axle. It injects Eolys fluid into your fuel tank every time you fill up more than a certain quantity.
What is the mileage of your car and when was it last refilled? It may be empty.

Ok so the module is underneath the car?!

Dont know when last refilled, just bought the car from a guy who sold it for a family member who has passed.

But if it’s empty?? Should it not show a faultcode for that?
Because my faultcode adm-0002 indicates on faulty signal?

Thank you

The additive tank is under the car. I'm not actually sure where the electronic module is, but for your problem that's not important.

I had a similar fault code, and it was because the additive tank was empty. If the car was serviced at Volvo, it should have been refilled every 60,000km. Anyway, to refill the additive tank, you can get a genuine Volvo kit like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192035194976

The rear of the car needs to be raised and then you can refill the tank (the kit comes with instructions):

Additive tank:

Then, the fault codes need to be cleared, and the additive dosing module counter needs to be reset so the car knows the tank is full again. I believe this can only be done with the VIDA software.

Sometimes, the level sensor in the tank can go faulty. This would mean the entire tank needs replacing, as the sensor is not available separately. I'd start with the refill and go from there.
