[QUOTE=Pidgeonpost;2936245]Apologies for the rubbish photo, but this is from the Thule catalog which has a very small font.

Not quite sure what you're message is here ... as far as I can see it seems to indicate that all V70 models with raised rails use the same Thule fittings... (?)

No doubt mine are Thule-made but they have Volvo logos on them, BTW. Pretty sure I bought them at the dealer with my P1 V70 - but it might have been the P2 - too long ago to remember.

One thing to watch out for if you end up with the same fitting as mine - the rubber part that grips the inside of the rail will fall off as soon as you look at it. I lost one before I realised this and had to find a replacement. I now remove them when the bars come off and keep them in a separate bag with the tool that tightens the bars when you fit them.

PS Happy to take some pics of mine if it will help.

My post was just that, George - all V70s with raised bars seem to take the same fittings. I appreciate your kind offer to take some pics - 'every little helps' as someone once said.

That's just the length of the bars.
The foot pack is the same part number.
The wingbar are a specific length as the feet fit in the end of the bars for aerodynamics (just take them off if your not using them, if you are using them, what you have on them will make more difference)
If you go for what they call squarebar or probar and things become a lot more universal (and considerably cheaper!)

Most cars with roof rails are much of a muchness.
I have a set of Skoda branded Thule roof bars that I got for my new company Fabia in 2013. (Look similar to their Probar)
They have since been fitted to a 99 Octavia, a 2000 V70, a 2003 V40 and most recently our 2001 V70XC. The bars are a touch short fir this so I had to modify the end caps slightly so the feet could sit closer to the end of the bar, but they still fit perfectly securely.

Until recently Dad was still rocking his Volvo branded bars (looked like thule squarebar) that he first had on a Mk1 V70, (Edit, might even have been his first 850, did they come with rails?) then on a 940, then on a Mercedes E class, then his XC70. By this point the steel bars had rusted out but I bet they'd have worked on his XC90 too.

The difference is that one has two bars the same length and one has two bars of different lengths.

My bars are different lengths. And I'm certain I was using them on a pre-2007 V70.
