I had a Saab 95 for a year in between Volvo's and it didn't have them. I didn't think I'd miss them but I did. I heard that their original intention was to prevent back-ache on long journeys.

I love my heated seats and wouldn't buy a car with leather interior without them! I think a heated steering wheel is also great, but my car hasn't got it... sadly.

I don't have the heated seats on all the time though... it gets too hot (even on the low setting). I just use them briefly for a few minutes, then turn them off. As spring is approaching, they won't be needed for much longer.

Leather gets roasting in the summer... very unpleasant. I'd love cooled seats, but my car doesn't have them. :

My wife's car has heated and cooled pleather (vegan leather) seats and heated steering wheel. All get used at various times during the year. Cooled seats are a strange sensation though extremely useful with pleather in the summer.

The one other useful accessory I find is the quick clear screen in my Focus, that has the frost and snow gone from the windscreen quicker than the rear window de-ices or the seats get fully up to temp. The heated wheel can be a bit too warm when it is seriously cold, double digits below zero.

I really miss the heated steering wheel and quick clear windscreen in my Volvo. The diesel engine takes a good while to start generating heat though the aircon does an amazing job of dehumidifying the interior and stops the windscreen re-fogging once the heat does come through. I only know this because the fogging was an issue while the aircon compressor was on the fritz. New compressor fixed that.

Yeah, I'd like the heated steering wheel and quick clear windscreen. My car is too old for that though. I think newer Volvo's have them, but it depends on the model and if the car has a winter pack (I think).

'er indoors '98 Fiesta had a heated front screen. Never had need to use as it was always garaged. I understand Ford had the patent for it, hence no other manufacturers fitting them at that time - not sure how accurate that is tho'

My '65 Rolls had a heated rear screen where the wires were embedded in the glass. The wires were so fine it was impossible to see them unless the light caught them at a particular angle and then they shimmered.

I've had my V70 about 8yrs and used the heated seat[drivers]once to see if it worked. A great granddaughter loves the "bum warmer" of the passenger seat!
My Omega being the Elite spec. has heated seats front and rear as standard and again I've used the drivers one once[to see if it worked]in the 14yrs I've owned it.Both cars have leather seats. No heated steering wheels[I don't see the point of them]heated screens would be nice as one of the cars has to stand outside while the other occupies the garage.
