How long does a service take?
I dropped my car off yesterday for its service today, I saw with the car app that just after 8 this morning the car was in the workshop, just after 9 am I got a text with a “car check video “ . Five minutes later I checked the app again & the car is back outside in the parking lot.
Surly they haven’t done a 2nd service that quickly. Btw they say my front right tyres tread is 4.8mm compared to 5.4mm for the rest of the car & are classing that tyre as amber. Anyone any idea as to why that one tyre is lower than the rest?

I often keep an eye on my VOC app when the car is in the garage and am often surprised at how little time the car spends in the workshop. My car went for its first service at 12 months old on Tuesday. It went into the workshop at 09:35 and came out at 10:30. The health check video came through on my email at 10:32, there was no work that needed authorising other than an adblue popup. In the video, they introduced two technicians who were working on the car, and I could clearly see one technician working while the other videod.

It's usually an hour.
Some long time ago I've had two quotes for a major service from two different dealers and was trying to get the more expensive one match the cheaper as I preferred the former establishment. Sales guy with disbelief (!) pointed then out that the difference is the labour cost, and they fact they quoted 1.5 hours instead of 1 hour... (they did match it after all, obviously) |

Last time for me it was about an hour for a maintenance service. Another 45 mins to fit Apple CarPlay.
I guess another half hour or so to wash afterwards.

An hour sounds about right.

I had my 4th year service last week at an independent Volvo specialist. His invoice says 2.3 hours. I've no reason to doubt this. I dropped it off at 8:30am and picked it up at 5pm.
