Volvo P1800 Doors

Hi

I have managed to pick up a couple of doors that are in very condition (come from USA I would imagine) to replace the two on my 1969 P1800 when it has a respray.

Just had a thought though - bar the different chrome trims which wont be an issue - are all doors the same throughout the years does anyone know only I am not sure what years the doors I have sourced were from so am hoping they are universal!

Hi ya ,

There is a major difference Mainly early doors ( which have hockey stick trimm & early small style door handles fitted ) if you was to fit say Jensen spec doors you will have massive gaps up to half inch all in odd places , then ES doors will have a main bar running through them as that was a safety upgrade but also as you mentioned trimm fitment issues and also the way the door is pressed and shaped internally ! So all depending on year & model will determine what they are and if you should even attempt to fit ?


So a few options early , late and ES spec early should stay on early cars as will cost you more in long run to even fit half decent , the later onwards being used is fine tho would be my rule of thumb ...
