i supose it dep;ends how quick you want it the longer it takes the cheaper the parcel gets mate .the flywheel could do with a reface witch costs around 20 pounds mate.the flywheel is the dogdish type with a hd diesel clutch.

Interesting, £200 is alot cheaper than the dual mass anyway (£800 new).

Anyone know if it would it fit a 360 bell housing? I'm presuming it would. Might be nice for my 360 Turbo project (96 B230FT). Would probably be new ground to get a 360 drive shaft compatible clutch plate though. I already have a solid flywheel for the conversion and might go with the 360 standard plate to get it going, but the full spec 940 slips at 11psi boost if its not in top shape so I can imagine the 360 clutch plate isn't going to be great.

Does a lightened flywheel actually increase your available power, I do have some vague recollection about this but would like someone to remind me. Is the disadvantage that it idles roughly, or you need to increase the idle?

The cheaper the better, I'm not in a huge panic for it, getting the flywheel skimmed will be no issue

Sorry to disappoint you but no, it doesnt increase the power, it just allows the engine (and thus the car) to accelerate more quickly. It's just the same as having lighter wheels. If lighter wheels gave more power, i'd be out there with the electric drill right now! But you're right, the disadvantage is a less smooth idle. You'd have to remove an awful lot of material from a Volvo flywheel for it to cause a problem though.

I suppose the engine speed stuff is more sensitive to rotation weight as it has to accelerate faster than the wheels in lower gears. I just thought there was something about the flywheel speeding up and slowing down at each firing stroke, I guess it (Standard type) just slows down less.
