Default Exhaust diameter t4?

Hi guys, been away for a while but I'm back now and with a question.
Been quoted £25 + cost of pipe to have the centre silencer of my PH1 T4 cut out and replaced with straight pipe and my question is this:

What diameter(outer) is the exhaust at the inlet and outlet of the centre silencer? also are the inlet and outlet offset or straight?

as always your help is very much appreciated.

Hey sam, as far as I know the centre silencers on T4's are responsible for the majority of noise suppression after the cat. The rear box's are pretty free flowing, mine had a massively disintergrated rear box when I bought it and I removed it and ran the car for a few months without it with only a slight increase in noise levels. Does yours have any other exhaust mods? de-cat? if not I would think removing your centre silencer would give a nice deep tone without it being too much to live with also would free up the flow a bit too.

That's great info, thanks muchly!

My exhaust is completely oem, layout is v similar to a t4 but lot smaller diameter pipe and only one centre silencer (thought the t4's have 2?)

am hoping to get aprice for a centre box 'delete' from the local powerflow chaps today

My T4 has only the one centre silencer also, one thing to bare in mind though is Turbo charged cars tend to be a little quieter on the exhaust front than N/A cars as the Turbo itself, believe it or not, deadens the sound somewhat. Just think about these little chav cars with 1.2L motors and a great big Jap can on the back and how much racket they make

I second this comment. There is a little **** runs around my area in his 1.2 corsa with a big loud exhuast thats just sounds crap. My standard exhuast sounds a lot better. Plus my car is quicker than his. lol

I got a standard 2.0 non-turbo s40.

Actually I did try but the bloody thing is too low and with my arthritis playing up all I managed to do was hurt my knees. The other thing is trying to measure pipework with a tape measure(all I have to use) it's easy to be 1/4 inch out on your measurement and order the wrong diam' pipe.
