Default Sat Nav Showing Wrong Position

Ok guys, experienced the first of the "major" issues with my S90. So I wonder if you experts have any quick fixes.

The sat nav was showing totally the wrong position today. Even after switching the car off for half an hour, it made no difference. Do I need to take the car to the dealer ? Can't believe it is so flakey as I've only had the car for 4 months.

I've had other small intermittent issues in the past such as door not unlocking, boot didn't open and parking sensors not making noises but none annoyed me enough to need to take it to the dealer.

Thank you in advance...

I had this when we were touring Scotland last month, it showed us going up the middle of a loch which went carried on for some time, after we stopped for a while it all went back to normal and have never had the problem again.

Others with this problem have said that it sometimes resolves itself if the car is left overnight.

If the problem remains, a system reset by disconnecting the main battery sometimes fixes it. This needs to be done in a specific manner but isn't too difficult.

Re door and boot not opening, the only time this ever happens to me is if my phone is in the same pocket as the key fob. (Keyless opening).
As mentioned above try removing negative lead from battery for 10 mins for the other problem, I ghink its a 10mm spanner.

I will lend you my tom tom if you want a sat nav that has no clue where you are. Its led me across open fields and very nearly into rivers. It would always take me by a different route when i was dropping my wife at the airport. We thought we could do magical mystery tours with it. I gave it a big send off with the toe of my boot when i bought my volvo!

Hi,

Please can someone provide more detail on "needs to be done in a specific manner"? Our satnav has shown the wrong location for months now, so I think the battery disconnect is needed to fix it. But I don't want to do it wrong!

Many thanks,

Dave
