Default Water spots on paintwork - how to remove?

Evening,

Just wondered if anyone else's Amazon gets bad water spots/marks on their paintwork? I had a cover on mine the last couple of weeks and frustratingly some water has got in and marked the paint (looks like its faded in quite a large area where the water has sat). I've tried to polish it out with a couple of different abrasive polishes but just doesn't seem to make any difference frustratingly, had heat on it also but nothing. My car is red which doesn't help, just wanted to know if anyone encounters this and if so how they rectify it? Seen a clip of a guy using vinegar to get the water marks off a new(ish) Dodge Challenger but I'm a bit reluctant to do it to be honest with the age of the paint. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
