Nice gear knob (ooerr missus !)
has anybody found a nicer gear knob than the standard thin plastic one for the 1800s available in the uk? Not after anything fancy, but something a bit more substantial for easier gear changes.

This isn't from the UK (U.S.A.) and I am not sure if these are still available, but they look good. http://alphatech-v.com/shifter-knobs...intage-volvos/

I suspect that Wiggy is thinking more like £15 than £150..............

I got one of those cue ball ones off ebay. Was cheap, is bigger than the original and works well I think.

A bit hot roddy but years ago i made one for my Morris minor from a 50cc moped piston, easy to do i just put the correct size nut on a bolt, filled the underside of the piston with epoxy, pushed the nut and bolt in then just before it was set removed the bolt and away you go and the aluminium does polish up nice.

Alf, your car looks great! And I do like the gauges in the dash... I've seen them on other cars but what exactly is that seatbelt anchor? Is that from an 1800? Haven't gotten that far yet, only got my car a year ago and mostly been under it;-)

Youre not far wrong there Derek, I don't mind paying a reasonable amount, but would just like something a bit chunkier than standard and looks right for the period. Jan says hello by the way!
