1995 460 1.7 Turbo Si
Hello everybody!
I'm off to Norwich tomorrow to pick up my new baby. Apart from the usual (footpump, 2 litres of water, bottle of oil, current RAC membership ) is there anything else I should take/be on the lookout for? I've had a 1.7 n/a 440 before, and the only thing that died was the alternator. Oh, and the exhaust fell off (like, literally). Cheers! |

Hi all.
Just got back from Norwich. Car seems in pretty good nick given age and mileage, and trip back was uneventful. Clutch appears to need adjusting but the main point is this: the previous owner has wired a manual switch to the fan, as he said it didn't cut in early enough for his liking. Problem is, the temperature gauge has died . I don't think it's the sensor as the secondary cooling system seems to be kicking on OK. Any comments? Was the overheating symptomatic of something else? Should I attempt to return the wiring to standard and go after the original problem? Cheers! |
