Default Hello & Please help with my 480 headlights

Hi everyone - only just registered as my 480ES headlights are driving me crazy and have continued to do so for the 12 years I've had it! Were usually fixed by ex-boyfriend! One of my headlights is stuck down - what normally causes this and is there a way of manually winding them up in the meantime?

Default try this

hi

long time since i had a 480, but it could be a bad connection, the wrong bulb in the day running light (yes really!), dirty or stuck contacts in the control relay, seized headlamp damper ( a small gas strut similar to ones on the boot )...........

Open the bonnet (which kills the power to the headlamp motors) and look around the back of the headlamps for a white knurled knob. Turn it (can't remember which way) to raise the headlamp.

There's more help at the volvo 480 club (europe) forum
