Well i got temp sensor replaced today in the catalyst and guess what, its still the same. Got the part from Volvo and got mechanic to fit. I'm just wondering do the sensors need to be programmed into the system for the correct temp values. As i know the mechamic did not programme it all he did was plug it in and cleares any faults.Has anyone please got any advice or help.

you should read this thread

Among the posts, I've recounted my experiences with BOTH exhaust sensors going faulty at different times.

There are two sensors in the exhaust area, both can cause similar, but different issues with performance. I've had both issues over the last year, and had both sensors replaced.

For me, one caused an issue on a cold start, for the first 30-45 secs, and then ok. It was only some cold starts, and then most of them.

The other cause an issue at any time.

Both issues resulted in very poor power.

Hopefully the thread might be of some help to you.
