Business Purchases - Eligibility for Offers, discounts

Was thinking about a T4 FWD, but having a look at the spec for the T5 Twin, the emissions make this seem like a reasonable choice to purchase as a company car (need to confirm with accountant).

Does or has anyone purchased through their own company? I assume the discounts are different and probably less (not buy a fleet, just 1!). Reading the 5 year service offer as well at 599 which is great value, it seems this would not be available for a company purchase so this would have to be factored in.

Any one have any insight?

If you opt out of the company scheme they usually give you a annual sum and it can actually be more beneficial financially due to current company car tax rules but it’s worth checking with your scheme, this is especially the case if your in the 40% bracket. If you do opt out you will qualify as a private buyer and be eligible for all the affinity/retail discounts. You also have the option of keeping the car...the T5 hybrid would be a great choice assuming the price isn’t really high as current T8 hybrids are really priced for senior executives and not middle management.

Yes that's right. According to HMRC rules, the XC40 Twin allows for First Year Allowance which means the entire cost can be expensed. Typically, a company car cost is only allowed a Writing Down Allowance (a percentage like depreciation but % decided by HMRC based on emissions). This is what makes the XC40 Twin attractive as well as the lowish BIK tax as well.
