Default V90CC knocking noise passenger footwell area

My V90CC has for the past 8 months had an intermittent knocking noise, it varies in intensity from barely audible to loud, my Mrs has even said she can feel it through her feet/bum, the real problem is that it being intermittent the garage have not been able to find it because they haven't heard it, me saying what it is and where it's coming from has not brought much action from my local dealer.

The knock will start and be regular for a period of time, then often stopping after a particular big hit, as if something is coming loose then going back into place, it isn't suspension as the knock is a fraction after hitting a bump, it's also brought on by change in direction.

Has anybody else had this problem, and if so has it been cured and what was it?

PS still trying to locate the fuse box in the rear load area - that has me stumped.

I would take it back to the dealer who with your description of the noise and the events will soon find it when its up on the ramp - they will know where to look.

Thought I'd bring closure to this.

on the 3rd visit in 18 months to have this knock resolved I have been knock free for 2 months!

1st visit, spring and it's seats cleaned as a previous customer had similar problem but caused by a stone being trapped - knock still there.

2nd visit, under panels removed from below engine and under body removed to check for movement of any components - knock still there.

3rd visit, below engine panels removed, large jemmy used to lever all suspension components and check engine/gearbox subframe mountings - result quite suspension.

When I say quite there is still the unsettling crashing and shock waves shuddering the whole car when hitting transverse road defects and minor surface defects.
