Default XC60 Inscription seat comfort

Is it me or does anyone else find the inscription seat bases very uncomfortable. Where the front of the seat extends we can feel the ridge along that join and if you extend the seat front you can feel the big gap it leaves. I think these have to be the worse seats we have ever had in a Volvo. We are touring Scotland at the moment and I keep adjusting them but never seem to improve them.

I have the seat extensions and have never felt as you do.In fact would not have a car without the extensions and I am not tall nor is my wife who is very comfortable with them.

It took me quite a while to get my seats how I wanted them as there are so many adjustments and now they are great.

I also could not get on with the extensions and found them very unusual to sit on and quite uncomfortable. Even more so if wearing shorts. No solution apart from speccing the car around normal seats, sorry.

No manufacturer of any product can make every consumer happy with every aspect of their product. Maybe you who are not happy with the Inscription seats and seat extensions belong to the minority of people who did not like the seats. My experience of the seats including the use of extensions in XC60 Inscription model is limited to test drives and I felt them very comfortable. However, I have read a lot of reviews and user experiences of these seats in this forum and in others. Vast majority of these reviews have been excellent positive reviews and hence my conclusion that there are a very small minority of people who don’t like them as with any aspect of any product.

Both myself and my wife find the seats just perfect using a small extension to the base for driving and without it on the passenger side. This includes long journeys on the continent.

I find that the leather seat on mine is a "tat" hard but I'm sure it will get softer as it aged with my weight

And I find that front extension seat really useful for long journeys or when you stuck in a jam because it supports your thigh really well...

Preference I guess but as one of the comment above said, there is no way one company can make a perfect seat for everyone....

Hi forum,
Bringing back to life this old thread. The OP correctly describes how I feel.
I have the XC60 since 9 months now and already drove it for more than 9000 miles. I don't remember the name of the seats, but I guess they are the most expensive one (inscription + napa + ventilation + massage).
Especially on longer journey I feel like I would have something in my pockets. It is very uncomfortable exactly before the gap that is created when the extension is out, but regardless of the extensions position.
My fried has exactly the same seats. He does not feel the pain, but I feel it in both cars. There is a hight difference of about 8 inches between us (I'm the taller one)... I guess that could explain it

Anyone else felt this? Any advices or guides on how to correctly adjust the sear position based on your body size?

Thanks!

I get the sensation that I have something in my right hand back pocket, but I’ve found that simply moving my behind, slightly left in the seat, cures that.

After a year of living with my Inscription seats, with many changes and adjustments, I’ve found a setting that suits me. I think that the thigh bolster doesn’t work for me; I have it almost fully retracted.

On longer journeys, I have a slightly different position, which I use when I start to feel uncomfortable.

Hi, we have had to now sit on gel seats it's the only way we can use the car, I did try for a couple of days without the gel seats when we were away but had to put them back on after 2 days.
