Default 2012 xc60 t5 turbo issue

Hi all, my 850 finally bit the dust after someone smashed into it while parked outside my house. I bought a 2012 t5 with the 2litre motor. I am getting a reduced performance message. Mechanic has opened the hood and said my air induction pipe, gping from throttle body to intercooler is collapsing. He is reccommemding changing that but thinks there is another issue causing it. He replaced map sensor but still an issue. Could it be stuck turbo vane. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue. I dont mind replacing parts if it needs it, but can get costly for no result. Any help appreciated

If you are getting that message then there will be some error codes stored, you need to get those read with appropriate diagnostics and then share them.

It would also be good to know if there are any specific conditions that lead to the problem ?

Oops, was in a hurry and forgot to post codes. Came up with p0106, hence changed map sensor, and p132b boost pressure control a.
Spoke to mechanic, he is going to have a feel around the turbo vanes to see if they are stuck. It happened a day after i bpught car privately.

Is yours the 2ltr 4 cylinder ecoboost engine? If it is I might know what your issue is.

Latest update, ordered intercooler to throttlebody pipe, mechanic driven car with original pipe forced open, bit better but still lacking power. He has bypassed boost pressure solenoid, still underpowered. Now trying to get to turbo to spin vanes.

In case anyine is interested. Turbo taken off car. Looks like a piece inside exhaust manifold has broken off and jammed itself into exhaust vanes of turbo. Now looking for a turbo and exhaust manifold for it.

That's what I was going to tell you, it happened to mine with the same engine.

Just be thankful you didn't take yours to a Volvo main dealer first and get stung for a new ECU.

This is the thread about mine: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=292157

Oh wow, so that's the cause of shrapnel, 2 layers of steel. Did you replace yours with an original Warner unit. I can get a new oem turbo and manifold for around 1200 pounds. I have seen chinese units on Amazon and eBay for less than half the price. But don't know how good these are. The t5 version wasn't that pop,as in Australia and can't get a second hand unit. I think new may be way to go, cos it may be a common issue with the higher mile mark. Mine has 108000 miles. Thanks for tbe reply
