Default Which do I believe (if any)

I have recently managed to get my Volvo "on call" app up and running very well. All the features are there and working well. My question is which of the indicated MPG do I believe or which is correct? On the cars MPG its showing between 35.5 mpg and 36.8 mpg on a combination of decent runs and short hops. For the same journey on the app its showing between 44.8 mpg and 45.2 mpg quite a big difference. I know which one I would like to believe

I could be wrong but I think the app shows lifetime average.

The only way you'll know for sure is doing a brim to brim test, reset everything, and see which is closest to your actual.

I have a virtually identical car and I have at best recorded 38.5 mpg on a long 350 mile journey largely on motorway and dual carriageway roads with no traffic issues so I think the former figure is most likely. The mpg figure I get on the app is unrealistically high

The car also over estimates the mpg. So 52mpg from the central display usually ends up being about 48mpg when I calculate it. I have about 100,000 miles worth of data showing this.
