Water leak found :- it was leaking through the rubber for the throttle cable, some leaves/sludge and dirt where stopping the water from draining away and thus causing it to back up and leak into the cabin. Sorted now
Thanks all for the input. |

S40 Sunroof related leak
Over the last year I have occasionally had water on the front passenger footwell and later above the passenger door handle.
Last week as the weather was hot and dry I decided to investigate and fix the issue, so promptly removed A pillar them passenger vanity mirror unclipping the wire, the removing the handle above the door. The cause was two fold, a loose connection to the drainage channel at the sunroof and the A pillar tubing was loose in the dashboard connector, also blocked at wheel arch. I purchased a metre of clear tubing from B & Q for £2 or so, the original tubing was in good condition so added some to extend length as it was 2mm short, all cleaned through and tested, but as I finished re assembling all fitments I realised I had left vanity wire under headliner so had to remove all again. retested with a small amount of water before re fitting everything, there was a really tiny hole visible where sunroof spring strip for wind deflected is attached, so sealed it up, all good took an hour to do, no more leaks. |
