Default Replacement front coil springs

Good day all, I had my clutch replaced in my Volvo XC60 d3 awd 2.4. Clutch is fine but from the off the car did not feel just right so booked car back in thinking something was loose, how ever today as my wife got in the passengers side a loud crack sounded and the front of the car dropped. On inspection I noticed both front coil springs were not in there locators. I find this all a bit strange as I have hit no pot holes or traffic humps. The car was fine prior to having the clutch fitted. Any thoughts please and any idea of the cost of replacing both front coil springs. Any info gladly received.

Hi There, ive had to do both my rear and front springs recently (probably due to not driving so much with lockdown). Springs seem to be about £50 each, plus £80 labour for all 4. Id get the mechanic to it as its a pain of a job and they can do it much faster. I ended up with KYB springs on the back and sachs on the front.

Good luck

I had a nsf spring break a few weeks ago. Started to notice a strange noise over bumps in the road and when moving it on the dive heard a loud crack and a 4 inch piece off the bottom of the spring fell on to the ground. Just replaced one spring myself. Fairly easy but you will need a very strong set of spring clamps.

Genuine Volvo spring was £150. Car sits nice and level now. There are cheaper ones out there but both front ones would have needed replacing.
