Waiting times, XC60 - Page 5

Update from the dealer today is that the car will likely be ready to collect at some stage in the second half of May. It’s an XC60 T8 and I ordered it in early January.

There are definitely delays.
I had the reg number etc and they were expecting the car 2 days later. Then they had to chase discovering it was still in Sweden having missed shipping. My dealer was expecting 3 cars which never arrived , all just before the end of March.
My car arrived about 16 days later and the dealer gave me a brand new v90xc whilst I waited

Mine has arrived at the dealer now so looks like a drive up to Birmingham on Saturday to collect. Can't wait

Collected mine on the 7th of April, ordered 28th of Jan.

I ordered last week and was told September (2018). I think they were probably pulling my leg. They didn't really seem to know! I asked them if it would be built in China but they said definitely Sweden. Production on some models switched to China but not XC60.

I understand that the XC60 is being built Sweden for European markets, and in China for other markets including China (no surprise) and the USA. This has been discussed at some length on the Swedespeed forum.

Certainly I was told that my 2019MY XC60 will be built in Sweden.

Xc60 for our market are made in Gothenburg and shipped daily from there to Immingham with DFDS.

My friend tells me after ordering his Xc40 which is going to be delivered in December! That his dealer has told him the xc60 is weeks from selling out for the year...so you’d have to take a car the dealer has already ordered or the one when someone drops out if you want one this year...

Does anyone know if volvo are at capacity on these lines - is it’s possible for them to add another shift( ie boost production)? If not then they obviously didn’t think they would be selling this well!!
