Well played squire, super trip.

You could have put in a set amount and filled up as soon as you arrived, you could have worked out if you'd have made it or not on the calculations

I only managed 72 miles this weekend, but it was racing one of these:

I like a bit of sailing meself, and I was going to ask you what the boat was until I saw the give away clue on your part of my reply, which if the caption is correct, a Contessa 32! Looks like fun!

I see Brendan has a Wayfarerer, I've got the smaller Wanderer, had a fantastic sail up the River Colne in Essex last Friday from Brightlingsea to the pub at Rowhedge, very enjoyable. What a great tow car a Volvo makes!

Had to laugh, I don't really pay much attention to most cars unless they are old or unusual, but when I first got my present V70, I went to Levington marina for a play on the river, when I back I had the problem of choosing which of the 4 silver V70's was mine from the four parked ones I could see!

Spot on, the boat isn't mine but I crew as part of the Contessa class series as well as regattas and the Island Sailing Club Tuesday night racing...

Lovely boat, and we had a great time over the weekend, 20kts+ on Saturday with no reef, lots of Dragons, Darings etc racing at the same time so got interesting!!

On the 6th-8th Septemebr its the Nationals, 11 Contessa 32s have entered so it should be a great weekend!!

Unfortunately our last W is gone. An incredible boat and a nicer fleet you couldn't hope to meet. My crew moved on to a 49er and I got one of these
And fifty is not too late to go on the wire.

Good for you! I'm not familiar with an Osprey, but it looks fun! I'll see if any clubs round here sail them, I'd be interested to see one in action

I've enjoyed previous years with a very friendly club sailing dinghies on a handicap system, but I've spent most of this year in another club crewing on a keelboat, racing in a one design class basis I think is so much better. Now the ultimate goal is to combine one design and planing....

My apologies to the OP for continuing the hijack of his excellent thread!
