Day Run Lamps Cheap Fix
Very often DRL's become dull. This due to the reflective paint in the light wearing with age. It is only a chrome paint. As it wears off you are left with just black plastic. A cheap & easy repair is to clean the plastic, then stick some aluminium sticky tape into the reflector 'bowl'. It is a bit of 'bodge', but once the lens is refitted only you will know & brightness will be restored to 'as new'

Good fix Paul.
Very useful topic. As mine were also dull (25 years were enough for them) I chose the other method (spray painting them with a chrome like spray - can). The result is amazing (they look like new) but I don't know how long they will last like that, but as it's a cheap, fats & easy fix I can do that once a year or so, if necessary.
