Default XC90 D5 Auto - AWD repair

My 2005 XC90 AWD appears not to be working. I read in a couple of threads that if I could rotate the prop shaft by hand, which I can, it means that it is broken. Is that correct?

If it is, then I am hopeful that it is only the splined collar that needs to be replaced and not the angle gear. I am in Hertfordshire - can anyone recommend a good garage used for a similar repair? Thanks.

Was the car on the floor when you checked the propshaft or was it jacked up?

The car was on the ground. There is sufficient clearance to slide under the car and reach the prop shaft.

If you can rotate it freely and completely then I'd say there is an issue.
