Slight Loss of Power
I have a 59 plate XC60 D5 AWD whcih i bought in september this year.
Ive not had a 4wd before so forgive my ignorance but when accelarating on entry to a motorway ive noticed what seems to be a slight loss of power only for a fraction of a second and then the power returns. This only happens now and again but ive just noticed it quite badly tonight when the temperature is very low whcih makes me wonder if it is this something to do with the awd and possibly the car trying to correct a wheel losing traction and the return in power is all 4 wheels moving again. has anyone else experienced this? |

Did the yellow light flash with the car skidding? if your computer takes over and reduces power due to a wheel slipping this will flash.
Normally (pending how bad it is) it can be difficult to tell what is going on as it happens in fractions of a second, but any time i have been in a situation (normally when im having a we play to check all working) the yellow light always blinks. Btw its quite difficult to get the Volvo AWD system out of sorts and it generally gets things back to normal within a fraction of a second. My suggestion wold be to give it the beans on a dry road to confirm all ok with the engine etc. Then try it on a slippery road / car park and get a feel for what happens when the computer takes over. It can be quite discocerning as you are pressing the throttle and nothing happens and it doesnt compute in the brain. Also normally its when your say climbing a hill on snow and your trying to give itt to much throttle and the vehiclle slows etc. It has taken me a few years to get used to the system and now that i am familure with good tyres i am very impressed. By doing these things i think you will have a better idea if you have a problem or not. BTW i think the volvo's are sensative to alarms so if there is nothing displayed prob all ok. |
