ASAHARTZ you rock my dear fellow...

This was a life saver. We'd manage to get as far as trying to pull the pipe out and just couldn't work it out without having to lift the engine bay. We then came across this thread and we used a screwdriver, brute force and a lot of cursing and it worked a treat! Took us slightly longer than the 3 hours its taken others, but we got it done.

We noticed though that there was a huge difference in the new pipe to the old pipe. It appears that they may have altered the design a little as we did consider bending the pipe prior to fitting it (so that it would go in the same way it came out) but it wasn't necessary. The pipe just slid right it... the tricky bit was realigning the hose behind the wheel arch. It was very fiddly and my small hands struggled but managed to after a few failed attempts and a lot of cursing..but the husband was pleased..

Ours was an XC90 2003... for those wondering.. and the part was £130 from Volvo.
