Worked on CCM 'calibration'. Having a weak air flow, it seems a flap wasn't fully opening

Default Fettled the alarm. Maybe.

The alarm has been going off for no apparent reason, no dash waning. So, bought a new battery and removed the siren today. PCB looked undamaged, and the battery pack didn't seem to be leaking - so put the new battery in anyway. All back together now, let's see if the critter wakes me up at 4am this morning. grrrrr.....

8k hid kit fitted... Threw up bulb failure, so connected some 55w resistors... All good now can finally see the road ahead..
Change my radiator fan unit... Bitch of a job without removing my turbo pipe..! But managed it in the end.... Tested the unit with the AC and it cuts in, but it hasn't cut with engine running...?

Default What I'm going to do TOMORROW thread...

May I sneak this one in?

I'm going to travel 210 miles to our nation's capital to see a 2007 V70 base with which to replace my aging car.
It's the same color and has the same mileage my '02 had 108 months ago when I bought it.

I let a good, solid feeling one in Pennsylvania go by due to an odd smell which made me think of fire.
You fine people told me to persevere.
I've seen a few with wobbly wheels and clunky transmissions as well.

This '07 does not have roof rails.
Can the roof rails on my '02 be swapped over to this '07?
Also, can the painted strips which live in the roof rails' grooves be swapped over to the car from which the rails were removed?

I hope I'm not jinxing this one by posting. Wish me luck. Kira

I went, I saw, I purchased.

Too many cars in my skull...it does have roof rails and some honest looking roof dents. It's titanium metallic (dark grey). It has delicate "paired spoke" wheels I cannot name.
The dealer installed 4 new, road force balanced Goodyear tires and a pad slap.
Winter brought Maryland some cold which killed the battery. A new Volvo battery went in.

It was funny. I watched as huge industrial, salamanders and hot oil space heaters being delivered to the dealer's shop.
Not only did the Confederacy have slavery their buildings didn't need heat!

Volvo put a compass in the rear view mirror and the car has IAQS-gotta check that filter.
I now have a "little seated man" heater control panel and a radio which identifies radio stations.
How 'bout one which notes if the artist is dead yet?

It's solid and accelerates much better than my 'grande dame'. 69,365 miles on the odo.

I'm so happy. Kira

Just a bit of tinkering this morning.

Done some vacuum system testing, and subsequently replaced the TCV with a new Volvo supplied unit.

Also got the torque settings for most engine bay bolts and checked them using a freshly calibrated torque wrench. A couple were slightly under their torque value, but are ok now.

Regreased the engine cover mounting studs with red rubber grease. Makes removal much easier.
