towing with a V50 T5. WOW

Just got back from Cornwall having towed our Adria caravan (1100kg) for the first time with the V50, normaly use the Discovery but as we have just got the V50 thought i'd give it a go, averaged 19 mpg flying along, cruise control set at 60mph i only slowed down when somebody got in the way, up Telegraph hill the auto box dropped twice and we where still doing 60 at the top (7mpg 8-[ ) the auto setting worked great never had to knock it into manual once it changed where i would have. Handled great around the Cornish lanes the only time we had a problem was pitching at the site, 30 deg slope and very wet grass, Discovery would have done it no prob, poor Volvo just span it's wheels. Disco will only get used for towing now when there is some offroading to be done.
