For those that haven't been able to make it - I'm currently sat in the car park and there has been an excellent turn out - esp on the amazon's.
Good day so far but it appears that the weather is about to turn. Sun has gone in and the clouds have turned up. I've taken quite a few pics as I'm sure others have. Onto the afternoon

Hi folks,
I've just got back from Gaydon, I went with my wife & kids as we only live 20 miles away in Coventry so were able to cruise up in my white 240 arriving at about 10:30 this morning. Lots of interesting cars in the car park, seemed to be more 240GLT's saloons than estates, but literally hundreds of cars to look at. I recognised V6 man's 760 GLT & 1stRavens silver 740 turbo & stopped briefly to say hello. There were a few people who'd brought a boot or vanful of spares with them but not as much as I'd have liked as I love rooting through old books & parts. I did pick up a couple of greenbooks tho, at 50p each from the Volvoclub stand. I've attached most of the pictures I took, including the Volvo club drinks mats & wallet I picked up. No pictures of mine though 'cause it was probably the least shiny car there. Mine was full of tools & kids car seats / kids etc :-) In the end we left around 13:30 and it was still in full flow at this point but my youngest needed his afternoon nap. But at least that means I can post these photos nice & early. All, in all a great morning with the whole family, wife kids etc all enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy them & I'm sure there will be more to come. Regards Ben |

I may well have taken a photo of it, I've got a load that I didn't put on the website as those were the best ones.

Just come back- BRILLIANT day and didnt pay a penny to get in either. Had a free demonstration with the XC90 on the offroad track too.- Wife loved that!
The turnout of cars was great with plenty of variety as you can see from Jacksonb123's pics. Had a nice chat with plenty of Volvo nutters, the sound and smell was intoxicating (the cars, not the people) Cars went from everyday work hacks all the way to concourse winners. Many had obviously been much loved and cherished by their owners. Car of the day for me was the immaculate H reg 240 estate. It was identical to the £50 banger I picked up recently and has given me some great ideas. The engine was so clean you could eat your dinner off it! Time to get the steam cleaner and polishing mop out. The cavalcade of Amazons was one of the highlights- they just kept coming! If anybody has never been to Gaydon its a must for any car enthusiast with plenty of activities for kids and grown ups and many rare and unusual cars on display including many weird prototypes that never made it into production. The only part which made me sad was seeing all the BL cars that have been "bumped" out of the museum into the storage area outside since the museum was taken over by Ford. The last ever Rover 100 and Montego signed by all the workers and a brand new Ital estate, Allegro and Maxi amongst others were parked up open to the elements with their tyres going flat. Maybe theyre not on par with some other cars in the museum but part of our motoring heritage that deserve to be preserved. Many thanks to the organisers for a wonderful day out, I think it will be talked about for quite some time!

I agree 'Engineer', thats why I took that one. Those Galaxy(I think) wheels are some of my faves. Especially on a clean silver 244glt. Very nice.
