Bit late for OP, but yes, I did too (actually over the original CCs, TBF)

Very pleased to read your recommendation. I've just put a set on to replace a set of Nokian Weatherproof SUVs, but I've hardly used them yet. I have noticed that the car seems slightly less stable on broken surfaces on the Hankooks, but not enough to be concerned about.

I thought the Nokians were excellent, but they had cracked badly on the outside shoulder of each one. Based on the remaining tread, Nokian refunded me 80% of the original purchase price. The tyres were four years old, so I thought this was very fair.

I have recently replaced the rear pair, having replaced the fronts in 2020,with Nexens 235x50x18. The car was fitted with these when I bought the car in 2016, and they have behaved well - so I replaced them with the same.

I have cross climates (second set). And they have lasted a massive massive amount of miles. So I would bear that in mind regarding the extra cost.

One comment I would make is that your thres are likely over 6 years old on the rear so I would have them put on the front to get them used up. Tyres don’t age all that well really.

I would comment that old tyres are carrying out the same functions as brand new ones and tyre manufacturers advise not to use tyres over 5 years old as the rubber deteriorates regardless of actual use. Taking a sub standard tyre and putting it on an axle that produces more stress just to use up the unworn tread might be asking for trouble if the plasticity of the outer cover is reduced and it sheds the tread.

I realise that this is doomsday advice and that the tyre manufacturers have a vested interest in getting you to ditch tyres and buy new ones, but it is your life that is at stake and you are betting the small cost of the remaining tread against something a great deal more valuable. With their vital function, tyres are the one area where taking any risk in the name of financial economy might be construed to be a foolish policy.

(The choice of smilies on this forum is appalling but this one is trying to tell you that I'm not trying to pick a fight but merely offer known advice. When is the forum admin going to overhaul the smiley library!)

This thread is very interesting. We've owned a V70 F20 for the last 8 years and it devours tyres.

Can anyone actually state the mileage they have achieved on their tyres?

Our car does circa 6000 miles a year, mostly urban, school run etc. The odd 200 mile run at the weekend.

I'm getting little north of 15K on the fronts and maybe 20K on the rears.

I run them at 34 PSI, chose Hankooks as a good middle of the road brand. I had Michelin Primacy's at one stage but they faired no better.

Alignment is spot on, all tyres wearing out evenly.

The garage in the business premises next to mine is a training depot for a premier laser alignment company. This vehicle is regularly tested and found OK.

Are they just hard on rubber?

What's the car model/tyre size? If it's an R-Design/Spot car with say 55 or 50 profile - I would say those mileages are what to expect.
