Default putting in an electric passenger seat

how hard is it to change the passenger seat from manual to electric what im hopeing is that the wiring is already there and that all i have to do is buy the electric base of the seat and change it with the manual one thats in the car now so i dont need to replace the seat.

well thats the theory any one have any ideas as to the reality??

cheers
Aidan

Hi "Car Mechanics" magazine put a set of leather electric seats into a 1998 V70. There was no existing wiring in the car ( unlike the older 940 cars ). They got the loom plug including some loom from the donor car and connected it to a suitable power source.

when i looked at doing the 940 all that neaded doing was the loom ran from the fuse box to the seats but the motors had burned out in the drivers seat so didnt bother in the end with it

Aidan,
On a 06 it is possible that the wiring is there , you will need more than the seat base ,you will have to get it complete to make it work , there is always the question as to if it will need software to marry it to the car.
