Default Rear number plate

Does anyone know how to remove a rear number plate, mine (01) appears to be stuck on as there no screw heads visible? - would prefer to remove without breaking /damaging, but if thats what takes, so be.

The reason for removal is fitting parking sensors.

thanks

Hi,

Most likely, they have used a couple or a few heavy duty double sided sticky pads to fix the plate in position.

Not easy to get off.
Try getting access to one edge and easing the plate away from the car.
Do this slowly as you can and be prepaired to take a few minutes to remove the plate.
You should hear the pads or other sticky material "crackling" away as you peel/ease the plate away.
It may be, if pads have ben used, that the plate backing may itself peel slightly from the perspex face of the plate.
Caution...

Des. . .

To remove stuck-on numberplates, just get a length of thin strong string, slip it between the plate and the body, pull it taut and saw it up and down.
This will eventually rub through the sticky tape without damaging the plate or body.

Using Strimmer twine or fishing wire is even better.

Default Hot air!

You can try all of the above, but you can also add the carefull use of a hairdryer (don't tell the missus) to try and soften the adhesive
