Question about EGR valve

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me with this. I recently got a 2014 V60 D3 imported from the UK. 3 days after the purchase the EML went off, I brought it back to the dealership and they toke the car to Volvo. I got a reply from the dealership saying that the car needs a part for the EGR valve. Can someone please advise me what to look for after I get the car back as I wanna make sure that everything gets sorted before the Warranty expires ( 12 months) ? Thanks in advance!

My 2014 XC60 D4 ground to a halt last xmas eve - turned out to be Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. Volvo replaced the part and changed some fittings around the unit - which suggests it's a known fault. Sorry, but I couldn't tell you what to look for though - it's been fine since.

Yeah, they have replaced the EGR last Friday, Sunday the EML went off again. I am bringing the car to Volvo to see whats happening.

There is a valve and cooler. Sounds like you needed both doing.

Valve cooler new hoses as well ..it depends wether it was cooler that is clogged or egr that's jammed open/shut
