Ignition OK. But no electric system for 15 seconds?
Hi everybody
My 1999 V70 have a weird problem. When i turn the ignition it starts fine. But all the electrical system dont come alive for 15 to 20 seconds. No headligths, no ligths inside the car in the dashboard. Nothing? Then it all turns on and i am good to go...... Any idea what could cause this anyone? 99% the ignition contact plate is shot. Try to turn very little the key back. When the electrics come "alive" it is this plate. It is fairly easy to be replaced.
Another source although not typical are the J relays in the fuse box. |

yep, ignition plate. try wiggling the key as a short term fix. easy enough to swap. drop the column cowelling and it screws onto the back of the barrel.
