having read the Auto Express "Screenwash Test" results and been impressed, I have ordered the Prestone concentrate off ebay. £12 for 2 x 2 litre , or £14 for 3 packs, delivered.
Hope it's as good as they say.

I used to use the Prestone stuff but found it seemed to dramatically shorten the life of the wiper blades.

I'm using SONAX NanoPro Xtreme Anti-Freeze Concentrate, diluted 25% product with 75% water and found it to be excellent.
The 5l size is out of stock at Clean Your Car but it is normally £19.95 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine...prod_1310.html

Go the the 'EU-regulation - English' for the more detailed list.
https://websds.volvo.com/websds/stre...&pLocale=en_GB

'United Kingdom - English' seems to list some other ingredients, but no quantity ranges specified.

As has been pointed out, there are no inorganic salts present, hence no risk of crystallising out and blocking the washer jets.

A salt is a technical term and doesn’t just refer to the crystalline white stuff which you sprinkle on fish and chips

“any chemical compound formed from the reaction of an acid with a base, with all or part of the hydrogen of the acid replaced by a metal or other cation”

It's a pity in these days of 'transparency' that the manufacturers don't have to declare the ingredients on the bottle. They do for items like toothpaste although (with the exception of active ingredients like fluoride) they can protect their intellectual property by not disclosing the actual quantities.

Nigel, some of them may be secret though. There may be one ingredient a mfr uses that makes it that little bit better than a competitor and knowing that opens the door. It is then just a matter of tweaking the amounts.

We sell a specialist paint and there is no way that we would ever reveal its components in any form other than H & S. We will give general information but the brand component names, no chance.

I use the super-concentrated Sonax stuff in the small bottles. Good stuff.
