Default V60 T3 Mpg

I wonder if any one can help I'm looking at a v60 T3 with everything I believe and the only thing is a I wanted a diesel 5 cylinder but I know there have dpf but I do about 12k a year and with cost of raising fuel and everything.

Are d3 or d4 or d5 . Better than petrol T3 and what rough mpg does anyone get
Are they reliable as a 5cylinder.

Sorry about spelling mistakes...

Hi, what model year are you looking at?

The early T3 and T4s up to 2014 I think, are based on the EcoBoost 1.6. I have the T4 with 180bhp, I believe the only difference between them is software. If you're mostly driving around town MPG will be low 30s, long runs will be high 30s or possibly low 40s. The best I've managed so far is 540 miles to a tank at 40.1. It's a decent engine but you do have to rev it hard for performance.

The new T3 and T4s are Volvo's own 2 litre engines. I've driven a T3 in a V40 and it was excellent, very nippy with a lot more torque than the 1.6. The 1.6 is very impressive for it's small size though, it feels more like a normally aspirated 2 litre

Hi, wondered if you ever got your V60 T3?

I have owned one now for 3 weeks (2014 plate with 1.6l Ford engine)

Like you I was put off diesel by potential reliability issues (I keep my cars for 10 years) so went for the petrol.

In short it's juicy averaging 35mpg on half half mixture of motorway and around town (in very cold weather!)

Honest John average mpg is over 38mpg, but I reckon some people have submitted figures for the 2.0l Volvo T3 which has bumped it up.

Mind you it's a nice car and built very well.

Safety was my main criteria and you certainly get that with the V60.
