Can't thank you enough Dunc, I hope it sorts my problem out? So what's the best way to fit this? I've not disconnected the battery before changing, should I do this?

get a e female torx socket ( its really small, maybe e3 or e4) and a small ratchet. whip your airbox out for room, disconnect neg batt just to be safe. then the 4 fixings holding it in go kinda upwards but on an angle (pump sits **** eyed ). theres a black cover hiding the self ejecting plug, just roll it upwards to eject then unplug the link wire that feeds power to the pump. then slide new one in and reverse procedure.

Thanks Dunc, I've had mine off a few times but never disconnected the battery, wondered if it made a difference? Mine doesn't have the link wire to the pump it's one plug.

weird, never seen one with everything in one plug. there should be a 2 pin plug (black) aswell as the multiplug. i trust you have one as it its how the pump gets power.
